An outreach to Penn State Altoona campus comprised of over 4,000 students. "Lions for the Lord" provides students with support, outreach, fellowship and worship. We want to be there for those young men and women to make a Christ-like impression in their lives. This campus ministry is non-denominational and all students interested in God's Word are welcome to attend our worship services, fellowship get-togethers, Bible studies and devotionals.

Since Matt Stumpf stepped forward as campus minister, his tireless efforts are an inspiration to all. Matt and Richel have opened their home to the students and offer a fellowship breakfast on Friday mornings. Matt continues to enhance his presence on campus with Bible studies, participating in the weekly Thursday evening fellowships, being involved in mission trips and lectureship series.

Prayerfully, in the upcoming months we are hoping to bridge the gap between the campus student body and the body of Christ. Thank you to those who have come forward to volunteer their time and resources to further this work of the Lord. Keep us in your prayers.

What we offer:

  • Adopt-a-Lion students will be matched with families that will be ready with a home-cooked meal, a listening ear or maybe just someone to count on while you are away from home,
  • Bible Study: We would be happy to answer questions, have a personal or group Bible study, or be available for campus activities,
  • Activities: In addition to our worship services, we have weekly fellowship meals and planned activities such as camping, picnics, ball games, etc.
  • Recovery Services: This is designed to confidentially help those individuals struggling with any addiction.

Why we do this:

Our common goal and emphasis will always be on Jesus Christ, His Word and a life led by the Spirit while experiencing our Father’s amazing love. So come and be yourself as we grow in Christ, get wrapped up in the Word and experience a life of true purpose led by the Spirit, glorifying God for all that He is worth! Jesus stated that though we are not to be of the world, we are to be in the world. This means that God intends for us to bring our transformed lives into contact with those who do not know God or those searching. No matter who you are, how young or how old or where you've been, in many ways we should always be searching - always growing. That's why Lions for the Lord, a non- denominational campus outreach, exists: to give you more people to fellowship with and grow as we all seek out God’s purpose and will for our lives.

Come and build life-changing relationships, share in praise and devotional time with us; just hang out and be yourself. This is also a great time to come and see who we are truly about and who we are striving to be.

We hope we can be of service in some way. If you have any needs or questions, please contact us.
